29th October 2014
As you may or may now know, Diwali was on the 23rd of October. Did you get into the holiday spirit? As Diwali is celebrated in many towns such as Belfast, Birmingham and London, it’s a holiday that everyone can get involved in – especially as our Boingy Cushions are made and manufactured here in the UK. Even though Diwali has come and passed, what’s stopping you embracing some of the traditions when it comes to giving your home a makeover?
Light up your life
The Festival of Lights is a huge part of Diwali so, it makes sense to add a lot of lighting. Before you go out to your local Ikea to buy some lamps, we mean candles. Adding a few candles here and there is a great way to brighten up your home and add beautiful décor. A particularly striking way to add beautiful lighting to your home is to fill glass jars with water to float your candles on – it makes for a great centre piece!
Add some freshness to your home
Flowers are a great way to add beauty and colour to any home. Flowers can add a sense of freshness to your home which is important. They are a great way to give your home a contemporary look without the contemporary costing.
Clean up your act!
Diwali is a time for spring cleaning in homes and offices. Maybe it’s time to get rid of all of the mess that’s in your home. Make sure you tidy everywhere, no kicking things underneath your beds!
Think bright and comfy…
One way to add a bit of brightness to your home is to paint your walls bright. Diwali is all about bright colours so, why not brighten up the dark spaces in your home with a new colour? You can choose from the festive reds, oranges and maroons or go wild and choose a colour you’ve always been afraid of.
Adding brightness doesn’t have to be about wall colours. New curtains and cushions can inject a huge amount of colour. At Boingy, we have a huge amount of bright designs for you to choose from. What says Diwali like a bright patterned cushion? Nothing!
